Frontier IP Group Plc (AIM: FIPP), a company that commercialises intellectual property, announced on Monday that its portfolio company inSignals Neurotech has secured a EUR317,762 grant co-financed by the European Union under the Portugal 2030 framework through the NORTE 2030 programme to expand its remote monitoring technology for Parkinson's disease. Frontier IP holds a 32.9% equity stake in the company.

This funding will be used to adapt inSignals' proprietary algorithms for use with third-party wearable devices, including smartwatches and smart rings, enabling continuous remote monitoring of Parkinson's patients outside clinical settings. The company said the technology is intended to improve accessibility, support treatment optimisation and integrate with advanced therapies, including deep brain stimulation.

In addition, InSignals is launching a mobile application for Parkinson's patients and caregivers, funded by an earlier PRR Green Vouchers grant. The app is designed to support symptom monitoring and improve communication with clinicians.

The health technology company is also conducting a seed fundraising round to support regulatory compliance and international expansion. Its technology has been validated in clinical studies involving more than 200 patients and is protected by patents covering rigidity quantification methods.
