The US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention has stated that the United States had administered 381,453,265 doses of COVID-19 vaccines as of Tuesday morning and distributed 458,771,465 doses, Reuters news agency reported on Wednesday.
This is an increase over the 380,831,725 COVID-19 vaccine doses administered on Monday.
According to the CDC, 209,982,936 people had received at least one COVID-19 dose, while 179,289,983 people are fully vaccinated as of Tuesday morning.
This tally includes two-dose vaccines from US pharmaceutical companies Moderna Inc (Nasdaq:MRNA) and Pfizer (NYSE:PFE)/BioNTech (Nsdaq:BNTX), as well as Johnson & Johnson's (NYSE:JNJ)one-shot vaccine.
Also, about 1.86 million people received an additional dose of either Pfizer or Moderna's vaccine since 13 August 2021, when the US authorised a third dose of the vaccines for people with compromised immune systems who are likely to have weaker protection from the two-dose regimens.
