Fuse Oncology Inc, a healthcare technology company focused on radiation oncology, announced on Monday that it has formed a strategic collaboration with Associated Medical Professionals of NY (AMP), an affiliate of U.S. Urology Partners, a General Atlantic company.

Under this collaboration AMP will run a proof of concept of FuseRx, a clinical workflow platform for radiation oncology, at its Center of Advanced Radiation Excellence in Syracuse.

Many large independent urology groups, including AMP, have brought radiation oncology in-house so that a patient is diagnosed, counselled and treated by one team. However, the workflow behind that care still runs across separate systems.

According to Fuse Oncology, FuseRx is built to take a patient from consult to treatment with the physician, physicist, dosimetrist, therapist and nurse working from one plan. The proof of concept at AMP starts with the physician's consult workflow -- the consult note and treatment intent, with the applicable ACRO pathway at the point of decision -- and will extend to the other roles as the full workflow rolls out over the coming months. FuseRx works with the EMR and oncology information system a practice already has.
