17 January 2012 - UK MGB Biopharma and Irish Almac's Sciences Business Unit have inked an agreement under which Almac will manufacture the production of MGB's lead gram positive antibacterial compound MGB-BP3.

The compound is a DNA minor groove binder and is currently in pre-clinical development with IND filing scheduled for the third quarter of this year.

MGB Biopharma, established in 2009, is focused on developing a completely new class of anti-infective medicines based upon compounds which are DNA Minor Groove Binders (MGB).
