20 January 2012 - British drug developer Bridge Bioresearch Plc, or BBR, today said it had received US patent for its CD14 molecule for the treatment of Type 2 diabetes, obesity, atheroschlerosis and inflammatory diseases.

This action will further enhance the IP position of CD14, which has already obtained European patent, BBR's chief executive Soren Stenderup said.

BBR has purchased the CD14 molecule from Spanish biotech Mellitus, which was its initial developer.
