13 January 2012 - Islet Sciences Inc, a biotech unit of US One E-Commerce Corp (OTCBB:ONCE) with patented transplantation technologies for insulin-dependent diabetes patients, has signed a product manufacturing agreement with Progenitor Cell Therapy (PCT), a cell therapy manufacturing division of NeoStem Inc (AMEX:NBS), the two firms said on Thursday.

Under the deal, PCT will provide contract manufacturing and regulatory services related to the development of Islet Sciences - PTM product, an injectable suspension of microencapsulated insulin-producing, pancreatic islet cells which are harvested from designated pathogen free pigs.

According to the arrangement, PCT will perform microencapsulation for parsing beta pancreatic islets for xenotransplantation using piglet pancreata. PCT will subsidise manufacturing margin related to current services for Islet Sciences - PTM in exchange for royalties on future sales, exclusive manufacturing rights for clinical trial and commercial manufacturing and an equity stake in Islet's parent.
