12 January 2012 - Swiss drug maker Roche (VTX:ROG) said on Wednesday that the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had given the green light for the sales of its Accu-Chek Nano SmartView blood glucose monitoring system in the US.

The latest model of the Accu-Chek Nano meter features a large backlit display and offers better ease of use due to the fact that it requires no manual coding or code key. It also offers better functionalities including customisable test reminders, pre- and postmeal markers and average glucose calculation. The Accu-Chek Nano meter uses Accu-Chek SmartView test strips and will hit the US market in the first half of 2012.
