3 February 2012 - Canada's Neptune Technologies and Bioressources Inc (TSE:NTB) has agreed to a stay of litigation in a patent infringement lawsuit that it brought with the US District Court in Delaware until the US Patent and Trademark Office concludes its inter partes re-examination of Neptune's patent at issue in the case.

On 18 January 2012, the defendants Aker Biomarine ASA, Aker Biomarine Antarctic USA Inc, and Schiff Nutrition International Inc filed a motion to stay the litigation until the re-examination process was concluded.

The agreement reached by the parties was approved by the Delaware court on Thursday and limits the stay period to the completion of the re-examination procedure.
