Cambridge-based biotechnology company 4basebio PLC (AIM: 4BB) reported on Monday that it is to supply clinical-grade opDNA synthetic DNA for a multinational pharmaceutical company's Phase I cell therapy programme, extending an existing relationship with the Tier 1 customer.

TriLink BioTechnologies, part of Maravai LifeSciences, will manufacture the mRNA drug substance as the contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO), using its proprietary CleanCap co-transcriptional capping technology. The collaboration combines 4basebio's enzymatically produced DNA with TriLink's GMP mRNA manufacturing capabilities.

The agreement supports 4basebio's strategy of providing synthetic DNA as a potential alternative to plasmid DNA for genetic medicine development.
