Clinical research site organisation Velocity Clinical Research announced on Friday the appointment of Justin Starzyk as chief executive officer.

Paul Evans, PhD, will continue as chair of the board to support the company's growth strategy.

Starzyk joins Velocity with more than two decades of healthcare operating experience, including senior leadership roles at large, multisite healthcare services platforms. Most recently, Starzyk was president of United Urology Group, a urology management services organisation supporting a network of around 300 physicians and advanced practice providers with 2,000 teammates across 100 locations. Earlier in his career, he spent nearly a decade at DaVita in a range of operating and strategic growth-focused leadership roles.

Starzyk began his career at Abbott Laboratories / AbbVie in global pharmaceutical R&D.
