French in-vitro diagnostics company Eurobio Scientific (Euronext Growth Paris:ALERS) announced on Wednesday that it has completed the acquisition of the Lab Products division of CareDx Inc (Nasdaq:CDNA), including CareDx AB in Sweden and its wholly owned subsidiaries in the United States and Australia, for approximately EUR145m (USD170m) in cash, subject to customary adjustments.
This acquisition advances Eurobio Scientific's strategy to expand its position in in-vitro molecular diagnostics and creates a leading provider of genomic typing and transplantation diagnostic kits through a 100% proprietary products portfolio.
Combined with Eurobio Scientific affiliate GenDx's expertise in next-generation sequencing assays, software and global commercial operations, the transaction brings together complementary portfolios in human leukocyte antigen typing and transplantation diagnostics. The combined business will offer products spanning the transplantation in-vitro diagnostics workflow, from pre-transplant HLA typing to post-transplant monitoring, including molecular assays, reagents and software.
Eurobio Scientific said the acquisition strengthens GenDx's presence in the United States, Europe and Asia-Pacific while expanding its ability to serve research and clinical laboratories.
The company also expects the transaction to enhance global distribution capabilities, accelerate innovation in high-resolution HLA typing, hybrid capture and transplantation monitoring workflows, and improve operational efficiency through streamlined manufacturing and supply chain operations.
