Agentic AI company Owkin announced on Friday that it has entered into a multi-year collaboration with French healthcare company Sanofi S.A. (Euronext Paris:SAN) (Nasdaq:SNY) to co-develop next-generation biopharma agents, supported by a five-year licence for K Pro, Owkin's AI Scientist platform.
The initiative is designed to advance AI-enabled capabilities across drug discovery and development.
The companies have collaborated since 2021 through a EUR90m strategic partnership focused on target identification in oncology and patient subgrouping. The partnership was subsequently expanded to include drug positioning for Sanofi's immunology pipeline, marking an evolution of the original agreement.
Under the new collaboration, Owkin will lead end-to-end development of AI-driven biopharma agents tailored for Sanofi, designed to autonomously execute complex research and development tasks. The agents will be deployed via K Pro to complement Sanofi's existing agentic AI capabilities.
K Pro integrates multimodal patient data and biological AI systems to support the pharmaceutical value chain from discovery through clinical development and enable faster, more informed decision-making.
