Ellison will oversee strategic growth, operational performance, and community impact for the largest private musculoskeletal practice in the United States.
Rothman Orthopaedics, a global leader in musculoskeletal care, has announced the appointment of Christian Ellison as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Bringing more than three decades of experience in healthcare leadership, Ellison will be responsible for driving strategic growth, enhancing operational performance, and strengthening the organisation's community impact as it continues to expand its position as the largest private musculoskeletal practice in the United States.
"Christian possesses all the qualities we look for in a CEO to lead Rothman Orthopaedics," said Alexander R. Vaccaro, MD, PhD, MBA, President of Rothman Orthopaedics; Richard H. Rothman Professor and Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedics; and Professor of Neurosurgery at Thomas Jefferson University and Hospitals. "He values collaboration and fosters an environment where physicians and employees can thrive--ultimately driving better outcomes for our patients. We're excited to welcome him to the Rothman family, and I look forward to working alongside him."
"For more than 55 years, the name Rothman has been synonymous with excellence and innovation," said Ellison. "I'm honoured to lead an organisation whose physicians are internationally recognised for their patient care, research, training, and clinical expertise. Rothman's commitment to the independent practice of orthopaedics is an important contribution to the communities they serve and U.S. healthcare more broadly. I look forward to building on its legacy as a leader in orthopaedic care."
Ellison's career spans healthcare services across multiple U.S. regions and international markets, with much of his work focusing on orthopaedic care delivery. He has a strong record of transforming healthcare organisations through innovative strategies and operational excellence, particularly in developing and scaling outpatient care delivery models across diverse geographies. Most recently, he served as CEO and Board Member at EVP EyeCare in Denver -- an investor-sponsored physician organisation providing ophthalmic care in Arizona, Colorado, and Texas.
Ellison will officially assume the role of CEO on 1 October. For further details, visit RothmanOrtho.com.
