SPI Pharma, a company that provides solutions to global pharmaceutical and nutritional customers, has named Scott Thomson as its new CEO, it was reported on Tuesday.

Thomson has served BASF for 29 years and has held various leadership roles in both North America and Germany, including senior VP of BASF's Global Pharmaceutical Solutions Business. Most recently, he was senior VP Care Chemicals Division, North America.

Thomson has Pharmaceutical Excipients and other Specialty Ingredients business experience.
