LoneStar Heart appoints Names Andrew Coats, Mark Maciejewski to board of directors
25 January 2012 - US-based privately-owned LoneStar Heart Inc, active in developing innovative cardiac restorative therapies, said yesterday it had appointed Andrew Coats and Mark Maciejewski to the company's board of directors.

LoneStar Heart chairman, Olav Bergheim, said that Dr Andrew Coats is an internatioanlly-recognized medical researcher and practitioner in the field of cardiac medicine. Combined with Mark Maciejewsk's broad expertise in developing Asian medical markets, the newly-appointed board members' experience will be invaluable as LoneStar Heart advances its portfolio of products to treat heart failure.

Dr Coats, 53, is a scientific founder and founding board member of Myotec Therapeutics Ltd. He trained in medicine at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge, and holds higher doctorates from Oxford and Imperial College, and an MBA from the London Business School.

Mark Maciejewski, 56, is president and CEO of Sinnomedical LLC, a China-based company creating strategic partnerships with US companies to transfer new medical technologies to China. Maciejewski holds an MBA from the University of Saint Thomas, an MS in biochemistry from Wright State University, and a biomedical engineering degree from the University of Dayton.
