Sandoz Inc, a global company involved in generic pharmaceuticals and biosimilars, in collaboration with Kit Check Inc, a company involved in automated medication management solutions for hospitals, is offering its first two injectable medicines with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) to United States hospitals this month, it was reported Thursday.
The medicines include Anectine 200mg/10mL and Rocuronium 50mg/5mL and 10mg/5mL (paralytics to relax muscles during surgery or other medical procedures). Several more Sandoz medicines are likely to be offered to Kit Check's hospital partners during early 2021.
Sandoz says that it is helping hospital pharmacies to improve efficiency, decrease risk and better support patient treatment in hospitals by offering real-time inventory reports and timely tracking of expiration of products and recalls via its collaboration with Kit Check. This will aid in automatic replenishment of supplies long-term.
