1 February 2012 - US generic drugs maker Lannett Company Inc (NYSEAMEX:LCI) said on Tuesday it had obtained US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for its supplemental Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) for obesity management drug Phentermine HCl Capsules, 15 mg.

Sales of the product, at Average Wholesale Price (AWP), were about USD11m (EUR8.4m) for the year ending December 2011, according to Wolters Kluwer data. Additional sales of this drug are made through bariatric centres, the company added.

Lannett said it expects to start shipping the product shortly.
