12 January 2012 - Amerigen Pharmaceuticals Limited and VIWA Pharmaceutical Company Limited said on Wednesday that they had signed an agreement to form a joint venture to develop and register a number of branded generic medicines destined for the Chinese market.

The companies hope that once the products are approved they will be produced at Amerigen's finished dose plant in Suzhou, China, with marketing and sales entrusted to either a Chinese affiliate of VIWA or a third party.

Amerigen's Chinese plant is approved by both the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and by China's State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA).
