2 July 2015 - - Chinese research organisation BGI's high-throughput DNA sequencing laboratory in Hong Kong has been accredited by the American College of Pathologists, BGI said on Thursday. The College of American Pathologists, an organisation of board-certified pathologists, serves patients, pathologists, and the public by fostering and advocating excellence in the practice of pathology and laboratory medicine worldwide. According to BGI, the Hong Kong facility is the first clinical next-generation-sequencing laboratory to receive the CAP certification in China, meeting the highest standard in clinical laboratory practices.  Complementary to the exiting US FDA - 21 CFR Part 11 compliant laboratory process, and multiple ISO certifications, the CAP certification enables BGI to provide the highest international standard of excellence in quality laboratory practices.
