19 June 2013 - 19 June 2013 - US research funding organisation JDRF and domestic medical technology firm Becton, Dickinson and Co (NYSE:BDX), or BD, have extended by three years their alliance in Type 1 diabetes, the parties said yesterday.

Under the new agreement, the entities will develop new products combinining BD's insulin infusion and glucose sensing technologies.

The extended partnership will also provide additional research for the development of a single optimised device that will deliver daily insulin and measure the glucose levels without the need of in-dwelling catheters to be placed in the body.
