18 June 2013 - Infusible medication company BioScrip Inc (NasdaqGS:BIOS) revealed on Monday the execution of a definitive agreement to acquire the business of CarePoint Partners Holdings LLC and its subsidiaries for USD223m in cash.

BioScrip expects to realize the value of a future tax benefit estimated at USD45m, yielding a net purchase price of USD178m.

Headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, CarePoint Partners is a national provider of home and alternate-site infusion therapy for patients with complex, acute and chronic illnesses. It is expected to generate USD160m in annual revenue, services about 20,500 patients annually and has 28 sites of service in nine states within the East Coast and Gulf Coast regions.

Subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approval, the transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2013.
