24 May 2013 - R-Tech Ueno (4573:JASDAQ), a pharmaceutical venture business engaged in the R&D, manufacture and sale of drugs having high medical needs, has started enrolling patients with severe dry eye in a Phase I/II study of recombinant human serum albumin-containing ophthalmic solution (development code: RU-101) in the United States, it was reported yesterday.

The two-stage trial is conducted as a double masking test at each stage. It will include around 120 patients in the first and second stage studies.

R-Tech Ueno ophthalmologist and president, Yukihiko Mashima, stated that the initial cases have been enrolled in a Phase I/II clinical study of RU-101 ophthalmic solution in the US.
