Steribeam announces results of six logs sterilisation of B pumilus spores
24 May 2013 - Steribeam, a company that manufactures non-invasive sterilisation systems with intense Pulsed UV or El Fields for production and research and development tasks, has announced that six logs sterilisation of B pumilus spores with a few UV pulses on the standard equipment, leads to the possibility for in-line sterilisation of filled infusion bags and syringes, it was reported yesterday.

The company stated that such results cannot be reached with the mercury amalgam lamps, which are effective only for sanitation up to four logs of various vials, cups etc.

According to data found by NASA scientists, to reach four logs sterilisation of these spores needed UVC doses of up to 3 J/cm². The company is seeking an industrial partner to implement the results to production.
