GlaxoSmithKline plans to close tablet-packaging facility in Melbourne
24 May 2013 - GlaxoSmithKline, a British multinational pharmaceutical, biologics, vaccines and consumer healthcare company, is planning to close its tablet-packaging facility in Melbourne, Australia, it is reported today.

This move will result in the loss of 120 jobs by the end of 2014 or during 2015, and the firm is taking the step as part of a business transformation.

The facility is likely to concentrate on producing specialised products, such as packaging for respiratory treatments and sterile containers for medicines.
