17 May 2013 - 17 May 2013 - Singapore's Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) and Swiss Cytos Biotechnology Ltd (SIX:CYTN) have started a Phase I study of their H1N1 influenza vaccine candidate in healthy volunteers, the parties said today.

The vaccine is based on Cytos' bacteriophage Qbeta virus-like particle (VLP) technology. A*STAR is developing the product under a collaborative research, development and marketing deal with the Swiss company, sealed in 2010.

The trial will examine the safety, efficacy and immunogenicity of the vaccine.
