MCT-485 is noncoding double stranded micro RNA (miRNA), which has demonstrated immune and oncolytic activity in in vitro models of hepatocellular carcinoma.
The methods and formulation for directing MCT-485 towards the tumor allow safe parenteral administration, achieve bioavailability in the tumour and contain synthetic miRNAs with immune modulating and cytotoxic effects, the company added.
MCT-485 is a cancer therapeutics based on the use of tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TLR3) antibody signalling technology, which induces tumour cell death upon direct exposure, while normal cells are affected to a minimum.
