3 August 2012 - Biopharmaceutical company Endocyte Inc (NasdaqGS:ECYT) said on Thursday that it has received the DOXIL supply to supplement its existing supply to support the ongoing PROCEED trial in ovarian cancer.

Under an agreement, the company received the DOXIL Supply (doxorubicin HCl liposome injection) from Janssen Products LP.

The PROCEED trial is reportedly a Phase 3 randomized, double-blind clinical trial evaluating Endocyte's drug candidate vintafolide in combination with DOXIL compared to DOXIL plus placebo for the treatment of folate-receptor positive platinum-resistant ovarian cancer.

In addition, Endocyte Inc's PROCEED trial anticipates recruiting more than 400 patients at 150 sites in the US, Canada, Europe and Asia. The primary endpoint of the trial is progression-free survival.
