Alethia Biotherapeutics Inc receives notice of allowance for patent named 'Polynucleotides and Polypeptide Sequences involved in the Process of Bone Remodelling'
24 July 2012 - Alethia Biotherapeutics Inc, a privately held pre-clinical stage biotechnology company, announced yesterday that it has received a notice of allowance in the United States for a 'composition of matter' patent entitled, 'Polynucleotides and Polypeptide Sequences involved in the Process of Bone Remodelling'.

The patent offers protection for antibodies that target Siglec-15, a cell surface receptor that is expressed on osteoclasts, the cells responsible for bone degradation.

Yves Cornellier, president & CEO of Alethia said, 'This allowance is the latest of three significant patents awarded to Alethia in the last 12 months that together confer a unique and robust intellectual property estate on Siglec-15 and our lead development program.'
